Snow Day Rehab

posted Mar 11, 2015, 1:29 PM by Jennifer Egan   [ updated Mar 11, 2015, 1:39 PM ]

After 9 snow days, I'm pretty sure I am not the only one who feels like she needs snow day rehab.  It was like an episode of Cougar Town for a few weeks in this house.

I am so ready for spring to make it's way here and would gladly make a bargain with Mother Nature to maybe give up white wine (and only white wine) for a while if she agrees to bring on Spring Time.

Please Mother Nature, pretty, pretty please.

Snow Day #7

Well today was snow day #7 and it hasn't been all that bad.  Not sure if that's because everyone in this house was easy going today or if we are just so used to the snow days that it's no big deal.  That last part is scary if you think about it.  Sadly, I am guessing that tomorrow will be snow day #8.  But the end is hopefully near, as next week will be much warmer.  Here are a few photos of my new friends Salty-Rex and Peppery-Rex enjoying the snow over the last 2 weeks.  Stay warm and stay safe.  J-Rex out...

Joyeux Vendredi Mes Amis!

Joyeux Vendredi mes amis! (otherwise know as Happy Friday my friends!)

Day 3 of my FitBit challenge.  Great 4.25 mile walk this morning, although I can feel my tendinitis flaring up.  Really need to work on this whole stretch before activity thing, but at least I got up and got moving. So here's to staying motivated and getting fit.  Found a little T-Rex themed image that I think is appropriate for today...

Have a great Friday and an awesome holiday weekend!

XOXO,

J-Rex

Got to keep moving...

Day 2 with my new Fitbit and still feeling motivated. Had a great walk/run this morning with 1/4 mile intervals. I don't know why I can't stay motivated when I don't use an activity tracker, so I'm so glad I decided to replace the one I lost. Looking forward to getting up tomorrow and doing something good for myself.

J-Rex out!

Let's get motivated

While my short arms may sometimes keep me from reaching the high things on the top shelves (ok, maybe even the bottom ones too), it shouldn't keep me from getting up and moving.  I was very excited to see the UPS man deliver my Fitbit yesterday.  I was like a kid on Christmas morning (well not exactly, but close) as I opened the box and quickly removed my Fitbit from the packaging.  It was easy to set up and I am so excited to track my activity.  I need to stay motivated and am hoping that tracking my activity and nutrition each day will give me the kick in butt that I need.

Have a great one!

It's Been A While...

Hi there, it's been a while.  Did you miss me?  (Who am I kidding, no one is reading this)

It seems like there are never enough hours in the day to get all things done that I'd like to do, especially since I'm so challenged by these tiny little arms. The last few months have been busy with ski trips (short arms don't matter when you're on skis), a 1/2 marathon, a visit to T-Rex for dinner and some time with my Dino cousins and my last school auction.

I hope to get more time to spend on sharing my "deep" thoughts.  I am working on trying to make the site a bit more pleasing to the eye and contemplating what kind of posts I should attempt going forward.  Should I shoot for funny, should it be all about J-Rex and her tiny arms, or should I go for brainy?  So many possibilities, but so far no solid direction.

Well until next time my friend.

Sincerely,

J-Rex

Embracing Your Nickname...

You know you have adopted your nickname when you get an email from your mom that reads:

J-Rex, just checking on your weather. How will you manage to shovel snow with your little arms?

and you aren't the least bit surprised or offended.
